Credited for making chicken nanban famous nationwide, it's worth visiting to see what the fuss is about. Great chicken, tartare is very rich/kotteri though.

I have high expectations as this restaurant ranked 1st in tripadviser but it was only average taste. Price is bargaining though

Visited this restaurant to enjoy the renowned nanban chicken in Miyazaki with my friend. Staff is helpful and service is quick. The location is a bit hard to find but persevere and you’ll be rewarded with a delectable, mouth-watering meal!

A shop that is said to be the origin of chicken Nanban. It was my first visit to Miyazaki, but the local people recommended it, so I chose this shop. There were about 10 groups lined up after 13:00, but I waited about 10 minutes, perhaps because of a weekday, and then I was able to enter the store easily. This time I ate the royal chicken Nanban set meal. The chicken is well seasoned and not moist but moist. And the entanglement with tartar sauce that brings out the sweetness of chicken is a perfect match. The rice was also glossy, and each grain was tasty, and this combination with the main dish was outstanding.I don't know which chicken Nanban shop is good! So, first of all, we recommend this shop.

The birth place of chicken nanban apparently. Food was good, nothing special. As a nanban lover, I had to try it while I was there 😊

If there is one thing that Miyazaki is famous for in Japan, it's chicken nanban, and in my experience there is nowhere in Japan that does chicken nanban like Ogura. I stumbled upon Ogura my first time in Miyazaki City and I've been dreaming about those flavors every since. My mouth is watering just writing this review. I found it wandering around one afternoon trying to find a good coffee (an obsession of mine in Japan - seeking out 3rd wave coffee shops). There was a long line at about 2pm on a weekday so I decided to jump in line after reading what I could about the restaurant. I was not disappointed. It was absolutely fantastic. Inside it feels like a US diner, but the food is all Japan. There is no reason to look past the chicken nanban on the menu, but be aware it's a lot of food for one person. Go hungry! Kampai!

This is a wonderfully cozy restaurant. The restaurant has a strange combination of interior, but the service is great and staff very friendly. Getting food doesn't take long and is quite tasty. There is no English menu, but they do have a picture menu, which contains essentially the same as the Japanese menu. The restaurant is in a small alley.

A local restaurant offering the famous Nanban chicken 南蛮チキン dishes. The dish is delicious 😋 It is located in an alley behind the Main Street. There are two floor and the interior is 70s style. The service is adequate. You can see lots of locals enjoying the meals there. Worth a visit if you are in town.

The most famous place for Nanban(chicken) in Miyazaki. The food is quite good but the locals don't come here as it's crowded. Try going during the time when people are less.

Overrated. The taste is too bland for me and the namban is just average. Though I see local people coming in. I don’t find this restaurant anything special.

Nice place to try a local restaurant. Takes some time to cook and serve but foods are not hot... just warm enough. Good place to go.

Questions & Answers

I go home with chicken soba every year. It is 1000 yen with rice. However, it may be refused by the congestion situation.

It takes about 15 minutes from Miyazaki Station. You should aim for Miyazaki Yamagataya. It's in the back of the Yamagata shop, so it's quicker to find it when you get to the Yamagata shop

Because Miyazaki beef is black cattle, I think the taste and flavor are the same. As there are many sashi, it is soft (I almost eat fat), so I think that the preference will differ at the site It's lean and soft, it's a fin, and if it's a fat guy, it's a good rose. Since the parts used are different depending on the shop, I think that there is no good place to say

I do not know I did not peek at the kitchen

I think that the shop's stew is chicken soba.

no

I have not.

There are several coin parking lots around the shop.

I think chicken nanban cannot be removed.
